Why Bloggers Blog For Money

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Writing blogs has become a favorite hobbies for everybody across different ages, races or religions. Everywhere on the Internet, one can find people publishing blogs, from the home-based businessman to the most cogent CEO. Even children are getting into blogging as a way of expressing themselves and helping them create their identities. With this technology, people have, so, found a comparatively new way of getting in touch with themselves and others as they explore their knowledge and share this to those who are only too glad to learn. However, with the rapid changes characteristic to the present society , newer dimensions are added to the activity. Now, people can earn money blogging and although some are still disbelieving, others have been raking in millions just by attracting people to their blogs. So why should you blog for money? Nowadays, every little opportunity to fatten your income should be met with willingness and an open mind. This doesn’t mean, however, that one may be indiscriminate in choosing the ways to make extra money. After all, scams are everywhere on the Internet from your email to your Facebook. All the same, with the utterly clean set-up of blogging as a means of making money, one can only be enthusiastic about the idea of having extra room for the cash to flow. Apparently, we blog for money to make more money. Who doesn’t want more income to serve better food on the table or to have more fun and thrilling vacations for the family? With economies falling from one part of the globe to another, it’s insane for us not to capitalize on every opportunity that helps to guarantee our financial freedom. While we can’t expect to make millions on our first month, we can slowly work towards establishing our name and our reputation before the financial prospects eventually become rosier. The other thing that makes blogging a worthwhile activity for most is the fact that it has become some form of personal release. Everyday, people are dealing with more and more stressors in a world that only gets so much more complicated. Aside from imparting knowledge to others, a blogger may also use a blog to discuss the things he feels stormily about in his life - animals, politics, music or whatever he finds interesting enough to blog about. The fact that people are also able to comment on a blog may be a good way that the blogger may feel rewarded for his efforts. Although there will be things said that will be unpleasant, comments are usually supportive of the blogger and this even becomes a way for the person to create a new community that he can interact with productively. Making money blogging is no easy task and most of the time, it will take years for a blogger to be able to do this. But the possibility of a blog making money is real and no matter how discouraging it may be at first, the financial promise is always there.

The Overlooked Features Of Blogging

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

When one spends a lot of time on the Internet, it’s inconceivable not to notice the ballooning number of blogs springing up from one site to another. Whether it’s a company blog or something hosted by free blog service providers, this web activity has become one of the biggest phenomena in the world of information technology. Many people share this passion irrespective of age, race or religion. And blogs may be written for a diversity of topics from politics to personal travels. However, for those interested in earning extra cash to augment the family’s income, there’s only one type of that interests them - blogs that make money. For every freshman, the thought alone of making money while simply expressing one’s ideas to a world audience couldn’t be more attractive. Moreover, the ease of creating a blog makes it a lot more popular than if one were required to have technical knowledge to maintain it. The Internet has become such a favorite place for all people who believe they have something worthwhile to say. And for those who want to make their blogging even more worthwhile, earning an income consumes a considerable portion of their blogging agenda. Everywhere on the web, there are a lot of articles discussing how to blog or how to make a blog that really sells. While there are a lot of ideas introduced by different authors, some things are nearly forgotten. For example, the importance of sticking to one blog service provider is seldom mentioned. A lot of first-time bloggers are agitated about creating blogs in different hosting sites or will even create their own sites to have “more control” over their pages. However, in reality, most readers will bear in mind only one blog site per author and having too many URL’s can be very confusing. Therefore, a good number of followers may be lost along the way. If one already has a well-established blog on one site but has to move it to another, it’s important to publish at least one last post leading the readers to the new site. This ensures that the blog’s regulars aren’t left to figure out by themselves what happened. Differently, this can mean a great loss to the blogger. One more often neglected aspect of blogging is the grandness of proofreading. Even the brainiest bloggers will make typographical errors, misspellings and grammatical mistakes once in a while. Hence, it is ever important to proofread one’s own writeup before actually publishing it or have someone else do it. Naturally, a blogger need not wait for people to come to his site in order to be read. It’s important to syndicate a blog using RSS to feed new posts to readers who sign up. Apparently, this makes it easier for them to keep returning to the site when they are reminded of it each time a new post is published. When syndicating, one has the option to include just the post title, a summary or the entire post. Making money blogging may sound very complicated but it’s really a matter of knowing the right things to do using the right methods. The most mentioned tips on how to make a blog make money are, of course, useful but one has to explore the less known side to be sure that all-important considerations are covered.

Blogging For Money – The Two Fundamental Mishaps

Monday, December 7th, 2009

A lot of bloggers out there dream of earning big bucks from their blogs. Of course, this sounds easy to do once you listen to blogging experts talking about writing the best content that people would always want to read. But how to make money blogging is more than just a question of content. If there was a blogger who just couldn’t reach his million-dollar dream in spite of writing the best content in the world, there would only be two main factors – a lack of patience and a lack of technique. Most of the time, bloggers are too impatient to wait for their blogs to accumulate traffic that they actually quit. This is for the reason that they can’t quite accept that to be known on the Internet , you have to be around for a long time. Of course, there are those that only came out a month ago and now they’re superstars. But most probably, these bloggers have celebrities for friends or probably they’re already quite known in society prior to their blogging. But for regular people, this can’t ever be possible. Rising to the top of the search engine rankings alone could take some time. This means for one to have a solid base of readership, one has to prove himself over time and slowly build the name of his blog. Technique has something to do with getting people to read a blog so advertisers actually appreciate being on that page. Some bloggers spend too much time writing new posts that they hardly notice if anybody has been reading at all. The problem is, while one may have the best content and writing skills to write the best blog post ever, it’s not going to make money unless people know about it. Technique would thus mean knowing and applying the right search engine optimization skills and backlinking. These are two surefire ways of getting a blog out in the open sea of the Internet for readers to fish. If you want to make money out of your blog, you have to make people see it and read it. You need to have traffic because if you don’t, you won’t earn commissions from those pay-per-click and affiliate ads you have. In other words, the more traffic your blog gets, the more possibility there is that those ads are going to get clicked and you actually start earning you commissions. To earn money blogging, one has to build the traffic because only traffic clicks ads and makes sales. In other words, making money blogging is not just about writing good blogs. It’s about getting these blogs out to readers because it’s the readers who’ll make money for you.

Blogging - The Ways You Make Money

Monday, December 7th, 2009

If you have an online business, it sure pays to do extra work trying to get it out to more people to increase your sales. And what better way to do that now than blogging. Definitely, blogging is a great way to promote your products or services and to seek out sponsors. Of course, you don’t necessarily promote what you sell directly through the posts you make. What you’ll want to write about are topics that are informational and relevant to your products or services. This is a proven way to make your blog make money online just by staying home and enjoying the best of family life. With a blog, you can add those pay per click ads which give you a commission for every click made on ads on your blog. There are also affiliate marketing sites which allow you to post ads on your page and earn each time those ads are clicked and when there’s actually a sale. In other words, your blog should be more of an information hub rather than a marketing tool. Then people will want to visit your blog not necessarily because of what you sell. They read blogs because they like what they read about. Your main focus should be to give your readers good content because it is the one and only thing that makes blog readers want to come back and even subscribe to your posts. This will then give you the kind of traffic you want for your blog to actually start making money. Readers are, of course, what you’re after because they’re the ones who’ll be appreciating your thoughts, ideas and knowledge. Without your readers, it’s useless to make a blog, unless you intend for it to be your personal journal. In that case, you can’t really expect your blog to be earning. Once you’ve somehow established a level of quality for your content, you’ll now want to add in the functionalities that will enable you to make money from your posts. Usually, people begin by adding Google AdSense. It’s a very simple process. You simply sign up for an account, provide pre-set specifications and Google will do the job of finding the best ads that will be useful or related to the information you present on your blog. When people visit your page and actually click on any of those ads, you earn a commission. If one person is going to click one ad, you will be paid for that. But that won’t be much which means you have to get as many people as you can to click as many ads on your blog as possible. That’s how you actually make a good amount of money. This also means that traffic is the number one thing you should work on. And again, quality of your content is what drives people to your blog. Google AdSense is just one of the ways to make money with your blog. You can also add banners that will promote your products and services or those you have linked up with through an affiliate program. When you make very good posts, there’s a better chance that readers would want to click on those banners. Now, that will be another way of earning an income through your blog. You can earn money blogging and a lot of pro bloggers have been very successful in this. But when making money blogs, you need to have a lot of patience because it could take time to develop readers’ trust before the formula begins to work.

The Meaning Of Comments When You Blog For Money

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Bloggers know how precious comments are. After all, blogging is not only about knowing how to blog or what to blog about. It’s also about handling those who actually read the blog and comments are the ultimate proof that people are reading their posts. It doesn’t matter whether or not the comment is in favor or against the ideas on the post. When a comment is left by a reader, that means the post has been read and is worthy enough of being given attention to. Comments are also some of the best things about blogs. They allow for authors to interact with the readers, thus, making their relationship more alive and dynamic. However, not all posts get comments and sometimes, this becomes a cause for discouragement on the part of the blogger. The good news is, there are things that can be done by any blogger in order to encourage people to leave a note or two about the post they just read. Sometimes, it’s all a matter of letting readers know that the blogger actually appreciates their thoughts and opinions on the published posts and that their comments are, indeed, very much welcome. In all probability the first think you can do is invite your readers to comment on your post. You may think they know they can comment even without an invitation but it’s definitely different when you are actually inviting them. They may or may not like what you’ve written and they may have varied views about your post but that’s, of course, fine enough. The point is to get them to participate and maybe provide a point of discussion for other readers. Of course, when they start commenting, you have to make them feel appreciated and usually, a simple response will do. You can thank them for taking the time to drop a note about your post. On the other hand, you don’t want to stop at thank yous but instead, try to be open-ended so that somehow, you leave the impression that you are willing to converse with them. While a simple thank you may do for some, those that really standout may deserve something more. If you get some really nice and provocative comments, you can actually mention them in one of your future posts. This allows your readers to feel important as far as your blog is concerned. Even if the reference you made in your future post wasn’t theirs, they would feel important just knowing that you actually took the time give another reader’s comment all that attention. Plus, it shows that you don’t only read what they write but appreciate it as well. And then, of course, if somebody tries to point out an error or slip-up that you might have made in your post, be humble enough to admit it. There’s no point trying to fight with a reader, unless you want to risk being misinterpreted by other readers which may really do you good as a blogger. If you think you did make a mistake, acknowledge it. If you think you were right, make your point firm and simple and then thank the reader for his comment. Proper handling of comments is one of the things you should master if you’re going to build your name as a blogger and especially if you want to earn money blogging. While blogging to make money may sound like an easy task for you, it can even actually get difficult if you don’t know how to handle your readers. Definitely, building a rapport with them is necessary if you want that traffic to be consistently growing.

How True Can Blogs For Money Get?

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

There is probably not a tinge of doubt that making money with blogs is a real and feasible way of making money. Still, there are the pessimists who will always try to put this reality aside if only for the fact they can’t embrace what technology has actually created beyond their boxed ideas. Stepping out of that box, however, will be a very good way of responding to the things that have been revolutionizing crude mindsets. One of these ways is blogging. While there are those who just aren’t sold to the idea, it’s great to be reminded why they’re making such a big mistake. First off, when you blog for money, you’re not just blogging for the sake of expressing yourself. You’re actually doing it with a lot more foresight and practicality. Besides, if you’re enjoying it so much, then why not do it and make money, too? What could be better than earning and enjoying at the same time? Blogging is a rewarding way of helping the business community that promotes the very ideas that you believe in enough to blog about. There’s no room for guilt for putting those ads on your blog. Readers are adult human beings and they do not patronize a product that is advertised on your page because you led them to through your blog. If they do click on those ads and make purchases from those companies, it’s their personal decision and you definitely had nothing to do with it. All you did was inform them about something you know and it’s up to them what to make out of that information. Blogging for money is a significant way to make money. With your blogs, you are able to inform people about the things they need to know, hence, they come to visit your page. You’re not only serving your personal need to express yourself. You’re also doing service to people who believe in what you know and what you can do to affect them in every little way that you, through your blogging, can. Again, why not earn at the same time? Blogging is a totally justifiable way to earn an income. You are not taking anything from your readers, nor are they forced to surrender anything to you. You are there with the knowledge that you offer and they come to seek that knowledge knowing that when it comes from you, it must be helpful. That’s the basic thing that happens with blogs. When you earn money, that’s your reward for being a good blogger. You’re not blogging for money for the reason that you want to make money from your blog. You’re blogging because you have something to share that people could make very good use of. And if you’re making money, it’s a well-deserved bonus for the hard work you put in what you do. Besides, people can tell if you’re fake and just actually after the money. And people will sense if information is what you came to blog and not the money that you’re hoping to get by imparting that information. To make your blog make money online, it’s not even advisable to keep focused on the moneymaking part. You have to work to actually earn money blogging and that means being sincere in what you give to your readers by making your content the best that you can make it while promoting it.

Web Blogging is the Hottest Home Business Trend

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Work at home moms are getting online and blogging their way into home successful home businesses. Blogs are here to stay, and many Wahms are taking advantage of the trend. Making money with blogs is a popular choice for many work at home moms. Blogs are simple to set up, and relatively easy to update. This is especially true when you compare blogs to other types of websites. Within just a few minutes, you can set up a professional looking blog for free and start your Wahm blogging business.

A web blog is an easy to update web site that looks similar to a journal. Entries are made at a minimum of each week, and the newest entries appear at the top. Entries are normally short articles of 200 to 500 words. Readers visit the blog or read the new blog entries through a blog reading program. Readers can also comment on entries and provide links between their own blogs and your blog.

With blogs, the opportunities are wide open. Choosing a blog topic is as easy as looking at your own life for inspiration. There are blogs about everything from celebrity news to bathroom cleaning tips. Before you start a blog, do some research on the Internet to see if people are interested in your possible blog topic. Your topic doesn’t have to be popular, but it does have to have a dedicated group of people who are interested in the topic.

When you pick a topic, make sure to stay within a fairly small “niche.” The term niche is used to describe a group of people who have a similar interest. There are big niches – like working at home – and small niches – like tips for training your cat to sit on the toilet. Try to find a happy medium between a popular topic and a niche interest so your blog has plenty of readers. Some topics, like working at home or parenting, are too broad and have too much competition for readers.

You can set up your blog through a free blogging platform, like www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com. There are also a half dozen others to choose from. The blogging platform will walk you through making your first entry into your blog.

After you’ve made a few entries into your blog, its time to get paid to blog. This means you’ll be making individual changes to your blog in order to make money. One of the most popular ways to gain income from a blog is by using a contextual advertising program, like Google Adsense or Chitika. Contextual advertising pays you for each time a reader clicks on one of the advertising links on your page. The advertising program will scan your blog entries for keywords, and then place advertising on your page that relates to your page content.

For instance, if you have a weblog on children’s TV and write an article about Sesame Street, the ads appearing next to that article will have to do with that program. They might be links to shopping for Sesame Street items, or an ad for vintage Sesame Street collectables selling on ebay.

One thing to note with contextual advertising is that you won’t have to worry about placing the ads yourself each day. Once you place the code on your blog, the program will automatically refresh the advertising when you make a new post. You will be paid several cents for each click. It doesn’t seem like a lot per click, but it sure does add up quickly.

Contextual advertising is just one way of making money with blogs. You can also create product recommendations and suggest information products (e-books) to your readers. Each time someone buys a product you recommend, you will get a commission. Many bloggers find that making gentle product recommendations throughout their blogs are a way to garner extra income.

Finally, some companies will pay bloggers to create posts that suggest certain products or services. These companies pay a few dollars per post, and are fairly easy to use.The only disadvantage is that you’ll have marketing posts all over your blog content. However, many bloggers have found a way around this by putting “And now a word from our sponsors” at the beginning of each of their required advertising posts. Doing this will help any advertizing appear to be more natural.

Almost Anyone Can Make Money Blogging for Dollars

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

The idea of blogging for dollars has become increasingly popular among people who own and operate blogs. What used to be an innocent hobby has become a profitable activity, so much so that some bloggers have began working full-time on their blogs.

Web blogging for dollars is rather easy, requiring no exceptional skills and talent aside from a passion and commitment for a particular topic or subject. You don’t need a university degree to start blogging for dollars. Anyone with an expertise on a specific subject can create their own blog and start making money blogging.

Know What to Blog About

Before you start blogging, it’s important to know what to blog about. It might be a topic that you are acquainted with very well and in which you have the enthusiasm and commitment to write about it. It would be a bad idea to blog about something that you have no interest or knowledge in just because it is very popular. If you don’t know how to cook a complete meal, it makes no sense to start a blog about Italian cuisine.

Find an interest, hobby or activity that you love to do, then blog about it. It doesn’t matter how popular or how obscure the topic is, as long as you have the passion and interest to write about the subject.

Build a Blog and They Will Come

It’s very easy to create a blog nowadays, thanks to blog publishing platforms like Blogger. There are basically two main types of blogs - the remotely hosted blogs such as those published using Blogger and LiveJournal, and the self-installed blogs using software like Wordpress and MovableType.

Which type of blog should you choose? Each type of blog has its own advantages and disadvantages, so choosing your blog depends on your own preferences. If you want a personal blog and you want blogging to be as easy as possible, then have your blog hosted remotely. But if you want a more professional-looking blog with a lot of features, create your blog using a software like Wordpress, hosted on your own web server. It is quite interesting to learn how to set up a blog.

Monetizing Your Blog

When you see that your blog already has a loyal readership, you can start placing ads, affiliate links and other income streams on your blog. The most popular sources of income for bloggers are:

Marketing programs (Google Adsense, Chitika, Adbrite, etc.)
•           Pay-per-post programs (PayPerPost, ReviewMe, Blogitive, etc.)
•           Affiliate programs (Amazon, CommissionJunction, Linkshare, etc.)
•           Donations and tip jars
•           Selling ad space and sponsorships

There are so many ways you can earn cash from web blogging, and scores of websites and small businesses offering cash to bloggers, that it would be sensible to pick only a few that provide the greatest income generation. Build a blog, add good content, and you will soon be blogging for dollars.

How a Blog Can Help Your Business

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

1) Consultant Blog: This type of blog is extensively used by a variety of service-based companies including marketers, interior designers, event planners, financial advisors, and so on. In fact, this is the type of blog that I write. The Consultant Blog primarily features a single person writing about their advice and observations. It is a way of highlighting your know-how in an area and building an active readership who trust your opinion to guide them. 2) Tourist Blog: Every Bed and Breakfast can benefit from this type of blog. It features the local area with pictures of surrounding vistas and updates about upcoming events. It can feature links to local weather and favorite places to visit. The Tourist Blog can help sway people to use your business services over that of a competitor, as well as keep in touch with them until they visit your city again. It can also save your business time by providing people the answers to frequent questions. Other businesses that benefit from this style include rafting companies, ski areas, fishing guides, festivals, and so on. 3) Industry Blog: There are a number of companies that specialize in a very narrow area of their industry. For example, many manufacturers are extremely specialized in what their company produces. These companies often sell to other businesses. In this case, it is often helpful to blog about new products lines, materials, trade shows, equipment innovations, industry news, and shipping news. Examples of industries that would benefit from these blogs include fabrication, machining, printing, engineering, insurance, and stamping. 4) Specialty Blog: A lot of businesses, associations, and hobbyists enjoy this type of blog. It focuses on a specific subject. Examples include golf, sailing, stamp collecting, dog breeds, wedding planning, weight loss, and so on. The Specialty Blog can be written by one or multiple contributors. It is a wonderful way to build an online community and encourage comments for the reason that the readers share a common interest. 5) Feature Blog: I first and foremost see this kind of blog being used by people who are in a creative type of business. It incorporates lots of pictures of recent projects and how-to entries. Sometimes there are video posts or audio recordings. It often has links to an online store where a visitor can purchase the project or sign up for an event. A Feature Blog is very useful for artists, designers. Musicians, performers, illustrators, quilters, and writers. One more type of business that could benefit is one that produces custom products such as a furniture maker or a bike builder. If you want to know how to blog all you have to do is learn the basics. There are a lot of resources online that you can make use of. There are many articles that give tips on how to make money blogging or even how to start a blog.
