Whether you’re hoping to attract visitors from Google, Bing, Yahoo, or other search engines, you’ll be certain to see a boost by utilizing certain Wordpress features. What follows are some simple steps to take in setting up your Wordpress blog that will help you achieve a high ranking.

The headings you choose for your Wordpress blog are very important if you want to rank near the top of search findings. Your post title must contain all your target keywords, as search engines rely on such relevant keywords in rankings sites. Try to add as many keywords to the title and content as possible. But be careful not to confuse the search engines with repeating titles. Use your keywords as much as you can, but don’t repeat your title anywhere else on the site. Look no further for the latest innovations in marketing online than this Rapid Mass Traffic page.

It’s wise to pre-plan for your upcoming posts by creating a list of targeted keywords in advance to use for your titles. Not only intended to convince the search engine, a title should appeal logically to your reader as well. Critically important that it is of interest, your posting title will always be the first item any of your viewers will witness. Titles are not meant to be lengthy, but instead concise and precise and easily intelligible for the reader. Your site’s content is crucial for achieving high ranking in the search engines, so it not only has to be high quality; it has to be relevant in every way.

Having a sitemap on your Wordpress site always helps, especially when you don’t want to wait to index your blog. In order to create a Google site map, you can use a simple plugin that lets you do it. Possessing a site map is essential for those utilizing Wordpress. Allowing Google to move easily around your website, they utilize your site map to more simply index all of your sub pages. Pinging is another vital action to take and should be done with each new post you place on your site. If these sites link back to the blog you will get backlinks,;these are important for search engine rankings. Notifying (or “pinging”) other sites after every post is published is important.

One of the most overlooked search engine optimization features is revising the Wordpress site’s permalink structure. Why? Unhelpful for SEO, the standard format only comprises numbers. You must use the title of each new article in its web address (URL). It’s a critical and easy step to take in Wordpress – just customize permalinks within the option settings.

Using Wordpress To Create Powerful SEO

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

While bloggers have countless choices when it comes to the software they use, Wordpress tends to be the one that many finally decide on. What is it that distinguishes Wordpress’ CMS from the rest? First off, it’s extremely helpful when creating a website that makes a difference. It’s highly professional and easy to use. However, the most vital component when it comes to creating a website is your ability to attract organic traffic, and this is one place where Wordpress stands apart from other platforms. The features which accompany Wordpress will amplify your ranking within search engines by themselves, but this depends on your ability to completely use Wordpress SEO to its maximum potential. The use of certain settings in your Wordpress blog will enable you to fully realize the benefits available to you. In order to get top rankings with major search engines, such as Google, you need to make getting these details right a priority. While most types of traffic that your website receives will be beneficial, this article will help you discover why utilizing the SEO benefits of Wordpress will increase free, organic traffic from web searches.

Using relevant keywords in the post titles on your Wordpress blog is one of the most essential (and simple) ways that you can increase your search engine optimization right away. Such keywords must be involved in the comments of your post, and not just used in the titles. You should use unique titles for each post and try not to duplicate them. Duplicate titles can be detrimental to the way your webpage is indexed by search engines. Before you write your post titles, keep a list of keywords that are relevant to your site on hand which you can choose from. In order to draw the visitor’s attention your title needs not only relevant keywords but catchy phrasing. When your potential visitor first sees your site link in the search engine results, your post title will be the very first thing that they’ll notice. Make sure that your titles are relatively brief and easy to comprehend. Look no further for the latest innovations in marketing online than this Rapid Mass Traffic page. In order to reach your goal, make your title concise and precise, and avoid unclear titles.

Remember that it is important to have a sitemap on your blog. This is especially important with a Wordpress blog. A Google Sitemap can be generated using a plugin and doesn’t take any technical know-how. The benefit of using a sitemap is that it will assure that Google indexes your site quickly and aids the search engine in seeking out all of your blog pages. Pinging your posts to various sites is also important, along with the development of a sitemap. Enabling you to obtain other bloggers’ backlinks, this also will increase your exposure on the Internet. Every post published to your blog should be pinged – no exceptions!

With Wordpress it is necessary to customize your blog’s permalinks. The default permalink structure you get with Wordpress has lots of numbers/question marks in them, which is why you need to have your post title in its URL. Thankfully, Wordpress gives you the option to update your permalink structure to best fit your preferences. If you want to know about a great new internet marketing technique check out this Rapid Mass Traffic page. If you avoid making these changes, your search engine rankings will get affected. You’ll receive a lot of benefit down the road by making these quick and effective changes from the very beginning.

Use WordPress For Building Static Websites

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

For years I considered WordPress to be a great program for publishing blogs. It never crossed my mind to use it for making websites. For regular websites, you use HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and/or CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Right? Not necessarily. After doing some research, I found that WordPress is a amazing platform to build great looking websites fast, easy and cheap!

Why would you use WordPress to build a website? Well, I can think of three good reasons:

  • Ease of Use - WordPress is one of the simplest and most user friendly programs available today. You don’t need expert knowledge, such as HTML or CSS, to build a website with WordPress.
  • Built-in Tools - All the tools you need to build your website are included with the software. Tools such as page editor, Search Engine Optimization, embedded video and audio, e-commerce, and an incredible array of tools available via plug-ins make this program a very formidable one.
  • Search Engine Friendliness – Search engines such as Google love blogs because of the “freshness” of the information. With all the available plugins for SEO, you can optimize your website without any knowledge of SEO.

If your knowledge of HTML/CSS is partial, or if you are annoyed with having to spend endless hours lining up text and pictures, you may want to consider using WordPress for building your next website.

You can have a WordPress website installed, optimized and running in about a day. Yes, a day. And I am not talking about a one page site, I am talking about a 10 page website.

In addition to the ease of installation and setup, you can add a lot of extra functionality to your website through the use of plugins. Plugins are small scripts (most of them free) that add specific functionality to your website. Functionality such as SEO optimization, form creation, automatic backup of the website, automatic updates, e-commerce (shopping carts for products and services), etc. The list is endless.

A website’s ranking can be helped when you add a blog. When you build a website using WordPress, you have your blog “built-in.” All you have to do is include a tab on your website and you are ready to go. Start adding good and relevant articles to your blog, and with the help of pinging and SEO plugins, you will have your site indexed and ranking in no time.

Next time you are in a hurry to put up a website, you may want to consider using WordPress. You will love it. If you want to get more information, check out my WordPress website building tips. Good Luck.

Benefits of Using WordPress

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Many people resist things they don't understand and that's how I felt about WordPress for many years. As I began making more blog posts, I could see an increase in my sales. I became a convert.

WordPress Is Search Engine Friendly

Search engines love WordPress and there’s a good reason for that.  The WordPress developers went to the big search engines and asked them what they could do to make a search engine friendly product.Because of that, search engines are able to easily crawl WordPress blogs to index your content.Search engines especially love sites with original content.

Pinging Your Blog

Pinging is by far one of the best features of a WordPress because it tells a web blog tracking system that your blog has been updated.Pinging services are to blogs what search engine spiders are to websites.Pining is the fastest way to get your blog crawled and indexed.Find as many pinging services as you can because the more your blog is broadcast, the more visitors you'll get.The URLs of the pinging services can be entered in the WordPress Settings - Writing - Update Services box.

Switching Themes Is Easy

After having developed many traditional HTML websites of my own, changing the design and layout is a major undertaking, yet one that needs to be done from time to time.Unfortunately, it's easy to break funtionality in the process.

WordPress makes it very easy to switch themes without affecting the data.A theme is like fancy widow dressing around your blog. The blog's posts, pages, and category content is stored in the database and will remain unchanged. Only the window dressing changes.WordPress is especially fun because you can change themes around major holidays or events.

Make Your Own WordPress Themes

Developing your own WordPress themes is fun and easy with theme development software like Artisteer.  Artisteer can also make themes for other popular CMS applications.Ever wish you could hide the sidebars completely or move them from left to right?Want a different font?Or perhaps make a theme with rounded corners verses square?  Here are two blogs I made with Artisteer, one about scented candles and the other about strength training. If you don't like a "bloggy" look, you can also make a WordPress blog look like a standard website with the help of a few plugins.

If you haven’t already given WordPress a try, I encourage you to do so.If you can click on icons to run other popular software programs, you can use WordPress.

Customize Your WordPress Dashboard

Blogging is a great way to make money online even if you’re totally new. If you’re new to blogging and yet want to start quickly, there are several business models you can try for maximum results in a short time. This article discussed the three most popular methods.

The first method is get paid to blog. Using this method, you create your blog and add a few good articles to it. Then you signup with paid blogging networks like Pay Per Post or Review Me and see what “opportunities” are available. These networks are filled with advertisers looking for blogger who can help them spread the word, and they are willing to pay. Accept the opportunity, write about it on your blog, and you get paid.

The second method is WordPress blogs for AdSense and it requires a little more technical know-how. You need to build a WordPress blog on a specific niche topic, and start writing some good content on it. Once you’re done, leave comments on other blogs to get some important one-way links. The objective is to get more traffic who will click on your AdSense ads and make you money.

The third and most sophisticated method is affiliate marketing with WordPress blogs. Again, you set-up a good WordPress blog but with this model the amount of content you publish is not as important as the “selling quality” of the content. Each post you write must pre-sell the web visitor and convince him to click on your affiliate links. When the visitor makes a purchase online after that, you get credited for the sale and earn commissions.

Ultimately, which model you choose depends on how much time and resources you can dedicate to creating and managing your blogs. If you’re new, you should choose a low-investment model and compensate by spendingmore time on it. When you get the hang of it, you can venture into other blogging models as well.

A Few Reasons Why You Should Be Using Wordpress

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

There are many different blogging platforms available to todays budding blogger. Blogspot, Squidoo, LiveJournal, Wordpress and many others all seem to boast similar features at face value.

With all the available blogging platforms, deciding which will meet your blogging needs can be a daunting task. However, most professional bloggers name Wordpress as their “blog of choice”.

Like most other blogging platforms, Wordpress is free. It stands out from it’s competitors for other reasons, such as a higher storage allowance (a quite huge 3 gigs) Also, unlike most other blogging platforms, Wordpress has the option of allowing you to install it on your own personal website. Should you install Wordpress on your own domain, which isn’t necessary but is recommended, you’ll have complete control over it and you are given all the bandwidth your internet hosting plan allows. That already generous 3 gig limit then become limitless!

It’s common for blogging platforms to let their users host images, but Wordpress has another benefit in that as well as hosting images, you can also host other types of files, such as PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, Open Office files, and PDFs.

A further benefit of Wordpress over other blogging platforms is it’s open-sourced nature. This allows for limitless flexibility. This reason alone has drawn in many users that previously used the other platforms. Appearance and widgets can be customized completely, allowing you to create your version of a definitive blogging experience for your visitors.

Lets review the benefits of Wordpress over other blogging platforms. We see that we have the option to house the blog on our own sever. We have the ability to host a variety of files on our blogs, and the the limitless flexibility afforded by its open source nature. If you haven’t already started using Wordpress, then now is the time to start!

This is a guest post by Matthew Wolfe. He teaches entreprenuers how to create blogs, generate traffic, and make money with his free video tutorials at The Wordpress Classroom. You can also find out more about Matthew, as well as learn more tips and tricks at his personal blog, MatthewWolfe.com.
